Will SIG affiliates still have access to the $5 discounted ASHA CEU activities?
The SIG affiliate discount on Perspectives courses in the ASHA Store will end December 31, 2025. In 2026, Perspectives courses will be available at a member and non-member price in the ASHA Store and as a part of the ASHA Learning Pass for subscribers.
If 2025 SIG affiliates purchase the discounted Perspectives courses before December 31, 2025, they can complete the course(s) any time until the end date for the individual course(s).
Is there an impact on Perspectives learning activities in the ASHA Learning Pass (ALP)?
No, until the end of 2025, SIG affiliates will have immediate access to Perspectives courses for their SIG(s). In 2026, the Perspectives courses will be immediately available to all ALP subscribers.
Will I still have access to Perspectives?
Current SIG affiliates will receive Perspectives through 2025. In 2026, all ASHA and NSSLHA members will have a subscription to Perspectives at no additional cost.
Will this affect Short Courses or special sessions that SIGs organized at Convention?
Not in 2025, no. The SIG-developed content is in place, and networking meetings are being scheduled. In 2026, the SIGs will not be providing invited content for Convention, but we’ve worked with the Convention & Meetings team to offer different ways for current SIG affiliates to contribute and volunteer. The SIG-developed Convention content is highlighted online.
Will I still have a community to engage and network with others who share my special interests?
The SIG Affiliate pages in the ASHA Community will be closed December 31, 2025. New topic-based pages are now open for all ASHA members to join. These communities will allow current SIG affiliates and all ASHA members to collaborate about clinical questions and share insights from their professional experiences. Current SIG affiliates will be transferred automatically in mid-December to the topic-based community corresponding to their SIG(s).
Where did this change to the SIG Program come from?
The SIG Program faced long-term financial sustainability challenges and declining enrollment. Through collaboration with the SIG Program Review Task Force in 2024, we identified valuable elements that could benefit all ASHA members without additional fees. For more information, please review the SIG Task Force Report [PDF].
Can I still join a SIG until the end of the year?
No, with the closure of the SIG Program December 31, we are not accepting new SIG affiliations or renewals as of September 1, 2025.
