Description

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative, technical and programmatic support for the audiology and speech-language pathology (SLP) units’ processes, programs, and services. The program coordinator applies technical and logistical skills to ensure process efficiencies and timely completion of work. Priority is placed on efficient communication, organization, and coordination of work necessary to support the effective functioning of the units, as well as ongoing communication with ASHA members and volunteer leaders, and other ASHA National Office staff.

Responsibilities

  1. Maintain and coordinate the travel and exhibit schedules of the audiology and SLP units, as well as coordinate logistics for internal and external meetings for audiology and SLP units and preparing and tracking shipments to events.
  2. Processing requisitions and expenses, tracking and ordering supplies, and researching prices and vendors to order giveaways and special supplies.
  3. Preparing/enhancing spreadsheets, letters, certificates, and other documents.
  4. Providing technical support with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as other technology, as needed.
  5. Support and manage workflow for the audiology and SLP units, including coordination of activities, resources, equipment and information related to internal processes and activities, ensure timely production of deliverables, and create and maintain documentation, plans and reports; recommend standard operating procedures and improvements.
  6. Provide support to coordinate and manage production of SLP Health Care and SLP Schools for ASHA Now
  7. Adhere to ASHA’s web content management strategy to develop review and maintain audiology and SLP webpages to optimize currency and accessibility of digital content and advise on best practices.
  8. Manage the functionality and processes for the units’ intranet sites.
  9. Serve as the social media liaison to support the audiology and SLP units, including, material creation and online communication related to in-person and online events.

Qualifications

Knowledge Typically Acquired Through

  • AA or BA degree and 2–4 years of related experience
  • 2 years of experience coordinating programs or projects within a complex organization (preferred)

Scope and Depth of Technical Skills/Knowledge

  • Excellent typing, proofreading, spelling, and grammar skills
  • Proficiency with standard software: Microsoft Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Internet Explorer, and Adobe Reader
  • Technical competence appropriate for using a web content management system, basic HTML, collaboration software (e.g., SharePoint), and customer relationship management software (e.g., netForum)
  • Demonstrated understanding of graphic design, web publishing and website architecture fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while also working collaboratively with a team to develop and carry out projects and duties
