Making a change in your speech-language pathology career path can be an exciting, but sometimes stressful, experience. Maybe you’ve made a big move by changing clinical settings or populations, or maybe you’re starting a new service delivery model. Maybe you’re re-entering the workforce after some time away or are taking on new management responsibilities. No matter the driver of the change, you may want to partner with someone who has already been where you are heading. The vision of the CTMP is to empower experienced speech-language pathologists (SLPs) to successfully transition to a new professional setting.
The mission of CTMP is to provide one-on-one peer mentoring that supports experienced SLPs who are changing professional settings. Participants complete profiles to help mentees match with a mentor who best meets their unique needs. CTMP virtual mentoring occurs over 6 months, focusing on
CTMP Mentees are...
experienced clinicians who have recently transitioned to a new job or are adding a new area of practice within their current job, and who are looking to build on current skills to meet new responsibilities.
CTMP Mentors are...
clinicians who are at least 2 years post-certification, are proficient in their setting, and looking for a volunteer opportunity to build leadership skills, network, and reflect on their own professional experiences.
